Charles L. "Chuck" Fleck, age 79, of Oshkosh, died Thursday evening, January 18, 2018. He was born in Oshkosh on November 2, 1938, the son of William and Jeanette (Ravy) Fleck. On September 9, 1983, he married Cora Lee Trier and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2014.
He was employed at Wisconsin Axle, which later became Rockwell International, as a machinist for 30.5 years before his retirement. He was a veteran, serving his country with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of UAW Local 578 and the Oshkosh Corvette Club. Chuck enjoyed landscaping and gardening, he was honored with Garden of the Month for his beautiful yard. He enjoyed time spent fishing, animals of all kinds (especially rehabilitating red-tail hawks), nature and camping, cooking entrées (missed the baking talents of his wife, Cora), and working jigsaw puzzles. Chuck was a strong family man, hosting many Christmas celebrations, and attending his grandchildren's athletic competitions as they were of great importance to him.
Survivors include two sons, Darin (Ann Wegner) Fleck and Eric (Kim) Fleck both of Oshkosh; two daughters, Kay (Chris) Shea and Patty Woldt, both of Oshkosh; four brothers, Billy (Barb) Fleck of Oshkosh, Dennis (Judy) Fleck of Omro, Darwin Fleck of Oshkosh, and Gary (Frances) Fleck of Georgia; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cora, and a granddaughter, Trisha Minardi.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral chapel.
