Obituary

Charlotte Louise (Kunde) Manteufel, age 90, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Mercy Hospital.

She was born August 29, 1933 to the late Harvey and Florence (Cartwright) Kunde. In 1955 she married Rev. Julius Edwin Manteufel soon after he graduated from seminary. Together they raised seven boys. They were married 68 years before his passing in 2022.

Charlotte is survived by her sons, Harvey (Linda), David (Karen), Timothy (Charlotte), Thomas (Maureen), Frederick (Carrie), Alan (Deb), and Philip (Judy); 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Julius; granddaughter, Ruth; and siblings and their spouses Gilbert, Richard, Virginia, Helen, and Mary Jane.

A memorial service for Charlotte will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1206 Ontario Street, Oshkosh, WI on Saturday March 23, 2024 with visitation from 9am until 11am with service to follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Charlotte's memory.

The Manteufel family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses, hospice chaplain and hospice nurses at Mercy and Compassus Hospice who cared for Charlotte during her final illness. Thank you also to the staff at Bella Vista for caring for her during her residence there.
