Obituary

Cheryl Ann Schulz of Oshkosh passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. Cheryl was born in Oshkosh on January 7, 1944. She is survived by her husband Reiny; two sons, Thomas (Pamela), granddaughter Samantha and Timothy Elmer, grandchildren, Jason and Jamie Elmer and great-granddaughter, Ella Elmer of Fitchburg Wisconsin; step-daughter, Christine Pascarella and granddaughter Angela, of Oshkosh; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R. L. and Norma Goetschius of Oshkosh, sister, Diana M Swenson, all aunts, uncles, one nephew and one great nephew.

Cheryl was employed by Watertown Memorial Hospital in Watertown, Wisconsin from 1967-1981, through educational opportunities and certifications serving in various capacities; Laboratory Assistant, phlebotomist, autopsy prep and assistant, Health Care Education Instructor, CPR-Basic Life Support Instructor, and Hospital Safety Director.

In 1981 Cheryl was married to Reiny Schulz and moved back to Oshkosh where in 1982 she started a new opportunity (in job costing-accounting then on to safety) at Service Litho-Print. During that time she served as a member, board member and then President of the Oshkosh Safety Council and participated in various educational offerings, completing her Safety Supervision studies through UW Madison Extension. She briefly retired in 1996. In 1997 she was contracted back to Service Litho-Print as a private contractor for Health, Environment and Safety issues, retiring in 2005.

Cheryl had several great passions in her life, her home and family, her pets and deep interest in all things forensics and medical. She loved to crochet and made many "Care Caps" for radiation patients, who had lost their hair, Afghans, pillows, recovered seats, anything to do with materials and sewing. Her family would never know what was going to be changed next! Always asking, "Are you done yet?"

Funeral services for Cheryl will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16th, at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street. A time for gathering and sharing memories will be held Tuesday at the funeral chapel from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Condolences may be given online at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
