Clarence J. Hunt, age 68, formerly of Winneconne, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at Centennial Inn. He was born in a small cabin in Winneconne on January 14, 1940 to the late Clarence and Lillian (Benedict) Hunt. Clarence went to school in Winneconne-Butte de Morts and later worked as a machinist and shop steward at Oshkosh Truck. He also volunteered as a fireman/auxiliary policeman for Winneconne-Omro. Clarence was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending his free time enjoying the outdoors. He was a member of an archery league with his wife, Fay Harvey, in Butte des Morts and had a great connection to the river that he lived on for so long.
Clarence is survived by his loving children: Laurie L. (fiance Mike Muskevitsch) Hess and Lon L. Hunt both of Van Dyne. His cherished grandchildren: Zachery, Shane, Shana (fiance Jim Muskevitsch), James, Chris, Jessie, Kory and great-grandchildren: Damon, Blake, Madyson, Jayden and coming soon Trinity and Alexander. Also surviving are his sisters Maryanne Fredericks of Clintonville and Shirley Roberts of Butte de Morts. Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife Fay, son Larry J. Hunt and sister Charlotte Krueger.
Memorial service for Clarence will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the family's home (W7387 Town Line Circle, Van Dyne, WI) between 4 and 5P.M. Friends may visit with the family at their home on Sunday from 2-6P.M. Directions to the house are available by e-mailing the family (
