Clyde Beck, age 94, of Omro passed away Monday, January 16, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born November 18, 1911 in the Township of Rushford, son of John and Abbie Beck, and was married to Dorothy Hanson in Omro on June 17, 1938.

Mr. Beck had been employed 28 years at the County Highway Department, where he was Shop Superintendent when he retired Dec. 31, 1976. He was a member of the VFW Post 8493 of Omro, having served in WWII; a member of the Omro Volunteer Fire Department for several years and had served as Fire Chief for two and a half years. He loved fishing, hunting, playing cards and his John Deere mowers

He is survived by his sister in law, Gertrude (John) Tegelman, his nephew and niece who were also his caretakers, Mike and Kay Engstrom, many other nieces and nephews; his homecare angels, Kristi Sprung, Gina Lewis, Roxi Lemieux, Sarah Steffens, Missy Lewis; and his many wonderful neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 1985, and his brothers Jack and Clarence.
Visitation for Mr. Beck will be at the Omro Funeral Home on Thursday, January 19, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Olm officiating. Clyde will be laid to rest in Omro Cemetery on Friday, January 20, 2006 at 11 a.m.
