Obituary

Clyde A. "Trapper" Travis, age 95, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, November 6, 2015, at Park View Health Center. Born on December 20, 1919, in Sheboygan, the son of Clayton and Theresa (Schmidt) Travis, Clyde grew up in the Glidden and Oshkosh areas marrying Laura May Haynes on December 21, 1940. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2011.
He served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII in France and Germany from 1943 until his discharge in 1945. Clyde was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail clerk for many years until his retirement in 1975. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and time spent "up north." Clyde was a member of American Postal Workers Union and the NRA.
Survivors include his children, Linda (Charles) Lococo of Winneconne, James (Deborah) Travis of Oshkosh, and Gary (Fran) Travis of Oshkosh; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Annette, Julie, Wendy, Aaron, Jennifer, Amanda, Nicholas, and Tiffany; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Clyde in death is his wife, parents, a sister, Norma Grider, and two brothers, Glenn and Lorin Travis.
In honoring Clyde's wishes, private family services will be held and entombment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
