Connie K. Penkivech, age 61, died on Friday, October 27, 2006 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was born on August 15, 1945 to Lowell and Alice (Eder) McMullen in Independence, Kansas. She married Theodore Penkivech on October 29, 1961 in Iron River, Michigan. They shared their life throughout Wisconsin, living in Milwaukee and Oshkosh.
Connie enjoyed life. She was a Cub Scout leader and was a past member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Milwaukee. She was a huge history buff. Connie enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. In Oshkosh, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Connie is survived by her children: Scott (Susan) Penkivech of Racine, and Tami (Bruce) Gregory of Newport News, VA; four grandchildren, her sisters: Mary (Neil) Darling of California and Gerry Carlson of Illinois, and her sister-in-law Diane Richhart of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother John, and two brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church on 110 Church Avenue. Pastor Tom Wiladsen will be officiating. Friends may gather at the church from 5:00 P.M. until the time of service. Interment will be at Stambaugh Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. on October 31, 2006 in Stambaugh, Michigan. A gathering in Connie's memory will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Iron River following the interment. Memorials to First Presbyterian Church, Oshkosh, Wisconsin or to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
