Cora E. Vesperman, age 91, of Oshkosh, died Monday evening, January 16, 2006 at Bethel Home. She was born on August 23, 1914 in Wild Rose to Gilbert and Carrie (Thomas) Darling. Cora married Oscar H. Vesperman on September 16, 1931 in Galena, Illinois and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1987.
Cora moved to Lancaster, Wisconsin in 1929 and farmed with her husband in Grant County until 1946 when they moved to Oshkosh. She was employed at the Oshkosh Sears Store for 18 years and later was the departmental head at the Rolf Hotel in the housekeeping department. Cora was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and the Ladies Aide Society of First Baptist Church in Lancaster, Wisconsin.
Survivors include three sons: Larry Vesperman of Oshkosh; Roger (Betty Jean) Vesperman of Waupun; and Donald Vesperman of Oshkosh; one sister: Judy McMahon of Waukesha; one brother: Daniel (Cricket) Darling of White Horse, Washington; one sister-in-law: Flossie Campbell of Oshkosh; 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren. Preceding Cora in death are her husband, parents, one daughter: Arlene Kuenzl, two sons: William and Eugene Vesperman, two sisters, and one brother.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverends Rick Hopkins and Lynn Scovil co-officiating. Interment will take place in Salem Cemetery following services. A time of visitation and support will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
