Daniel R. Futta, age 54, of Pickett, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at his home. Daniel was a beloved husband, father and papa. He married his high school sweetheart, Michele Koehn and they would have been married 35 years this November. Their marriage was blessed with three children, two daughters and a son. Dan was a faithful member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Pickett.

Dan spent his life working hard to provide a great life for his beloved wife and family. He loved his dumpy old farm, Sunset Acres, and his loyal dogs. He was looking forward to retiring and enjoying being at home. Pickett was his home and always will be. Dan was an avid hunter, fisherman and storyteller. His life motto was "When life pushes you down, get right back up!" and "Buck up! There's nothing we can't do!"

Dan leaves behind his loving wife, Mikki; his children: Sara Futta-Wichman, Joshua (Shannon) Futta, Marcy (James) Tyson; five granddaughters: Faith, Hailey, Mallory, Paige and Leah. He is further survived by his parents Bob and Shirley Futta; siblings: Debra (Steve) Frick, Sandra (James) Staerkel and many, many friends.

Memorial service for Dan will take place at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, Oshkosh. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will take place on Saturday at the funeral chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
