Obituary

Daniel James Markofski was received into the Lord's arms November 25, 2007 at Bethel Home, where he struggled with cancer, under the care of Affinity Hospice. He was born to Eugene and Adeline (Deibert) Markofski on November 19, 1946 in Oshkosh.


Dan graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1966. He worked for Pluswood and Oshkosh Truck Corporation, before being employed at Radford Company, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of the Carpenters Industrial Council. Dan was an avid reader and liked to take photos of the changing seasons. He enjoyed listening to music, going to family gatherings, and celebrating holidays with his nieces and nephews. He was happiest when sharing camaraderie with his many friends.


Survivors include his mother, Adeline Markofski of Oshkosh; three sisters, Patricia (Ronald) Kohls of Oshkosh, Kay (James) Jeske of Pine River, and Shirley (John) Dentici of Eagle, Wisconsin; one brother, Kenneth (Laurel) Markofski of Oshkosh; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding Dan in death is father, Eugene, in 1977 and his brother, David, in 1964.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Parish-St. Peter site, 435 High Ave., with Reverend Joel Sember officiating. Private family graveside will be held in Riverside Cemetery. A time of visitation and sharing of memories for family and friends will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials in Dan's name may be directed to Bethel Home, Affinity Hospice, or Most Blessed Sacrament Parish.


Dan's family would like to thank the Bethel Home 2W staff and the Affinity Hospice nurses for their compassionate care. God bless all of you.
