Obituary

Daniel John Wolf, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully with his daughter and brother by his side on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. On September 7, 1951, Dan was born in Rockford, Illinois, to Kenneth and Ruth (Stahle) Wolf.

A resident of Oshkosh most of his life, Dan, graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1969, where he was a three year varsity letter winner in wrestling, before attending UW-Oshkosh. He joined the Army Reserves where he was a Drill Sergeant for seven years. A devoted employee of Rogan's Shoes, Dan was one of the original managers when the company was founded in Racine, Wisconsin. For the last 35 years Dan was devoted to ensure that customer service was a number one priority at Rogan's. An avid hunter and fisherman, Dan's love for the outdoors was clearly evident with his annual trip to Tennessee, hunting with family and friends. A favorite vacation was going to Florida to spent time with his daughter at the beach, sharing a close father-daughter bond always. Time spent with his special little brother, watching weekend sports, be it the Brewers, Packers, or Bucks, was a relaxing time for Dan. Compassion and kindness given to others made Dan a truly special person.

Survivors include his devoted daughter, Abby Wolf, of Saint Petersburg, Florida; his mother, Ruth Wolf, of Oshkosh; two brothers, Patrick (Cindy) Wolf, of Oshkosh and his best buddy, Kurt Wolf, of Oshkosh; a niece, Tara Wolf, of Oshkosh; a nephew, Adam Wolf, of Oshkosh; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his loyal yellow Lab, Chance. Preceding Dan in death is his father, Kenneth Wolf, and Dan's faithful yellow Lab of 16 years, Bailey.
