Darlene Renee "Bean", age 57, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017. After a courageous battle with cancer, she climbed the stairway to heaven into the arms of the angels. She was born on December 15, 1959, to Russell and Jalaine (Thull) Bunker. She grew up in Eureka and graduated from Berlin High School in 1978.
Darlene was a very special person. She had a heart of gold and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was generous to a fault, even if it meant going without. Happy and fun loving, she liked classic rock music and attended many live performances of local bands. She loved cats and owned several in her lifetime. The latest was Joy, who she was very attached to. She also loved shopping for clothes and jewelry. Her favorite color was pastel pink.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Angela (Brad) Oesterreich, to whom she had a very close and loving relationship, and her grandchildren: Gage, Gracie, Gabriella and Bradley, Jr., who were her pride and joy.
Other survivors include her step-mother, Janet Bunker of Berlin; one brother, Russell Bunker of Sandia Park, NM; sisters: Cynthia (David) Tritt of Oshkosh, Linda (Ron) Miller of Oshkosh, Brenda (Mike) Sperger of New London, Christine Flanagan of Omro and Deana (Steve) Ceman of Berlin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Jalaine Bunker, paternal grandparents, George and Golda Bunker and maternal grandparents, Ed and Irene Thull.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Alten Haus in Neenah for the kind and loving care of Darlene during the last years of her life, especially Anne, Angela and her good friend Agatha who shared Darlene's love of embroidery and crocheting.
The visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Eureka Cemetery.
Rest in love and peace forever, Bean. We love you and will miss you.
