Darlene E. Chase, age 75, of Oshkosh, died Monday morning, September 8, 2008 at Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 3, 1932 in Oshkosh to Earl and Dagne (Peterson) Chase. Darlene was baptized and confirmed at First Evangelical and Reformed Church in Oshkosh.
Darlene was a 1951 graduate of Oshkosh High School and an employee for over 40 years at Johnson Foods, before they closed in 1992, as an office manager. She later was employed by Four Seasons Marketing and at 4 Imprint until her retirement in November of 2007.
A volunteer at the Grand Opera House and the Senior Center, Darlene was also an animal lover who had many pampered pets in her life. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed traveling, being able to take many trips, including Europe several times. Darlene was a loyal Packer Fan and enjoyed bowling in a league for many years.
Left to mourn her passing is a sister, Judith (Thomas) Ziebell of Oshkosh; three nieces, Julie Augsburger of Oshkosh, Susan (Michael) Mosling of La Crosse, and Debra (Thomas) Meyer of Oshkosh; four great-nephews, Ethan Augsburger, Evan Augsburger, Chase Mosling, and Mitchell Meyer, one great-niece, Sarah Meyer; many cousins and friends; and a very dear and close family friend, Madonna Wolff. Preceding Darlene in death are her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Because of her love for animals, a memorial in Darlene's name is being established to the Oshkosh Humane Society.
Darlene's family wishes to thank the staff at Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation Center and Hospice for all of their care and help. Darlene will be sadly and greatly missed by her family.
