David W. Geen of Oshkosh lost a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. He was born in Oshkosh on August 18, 1961 to James and Janice (Belkye) Geen.
A member of St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, David loved raising and racing pigeons. He was an avid thrift store shopper who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Each year he looked forward to taking a trip to Iron wood, Michigan. David was kind, caring, and giving, he thought of others before himself and was always there.
David will be missed by his mother, Janice Geen; siblings: Sandy Eichhorst, Richard and Shirley Geen, and Donald Geen; nieces and nephews: Robyn Kortz, Tina Knobloch, Bart Eichhorst Jr., Richard Geen Jr., and Tabitha Geen; great-nieces and nephews: Dale Eichhorst, Chloe, Cameron, and Cady Kortz, and Emma Eichhorst; and good friend, Peter Dale. David was preceded in death by his father, James Geen; niece, Nicole Geen; and great-nephew, Liam Kortz.
A funeral service will be held for David at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1100 E. Murdock Ave. A time for visiting and sharing support will be held at the church from 9:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
