Obituary

David E. Milner, Sr. "Pep" age 83, of Omro, died Friday, March 24, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born July 10, 1933, in the town of Eldorado, Fond du Lac County, the son of Joseph and Luella (Pease) Milner. Pep attended and graduated from Winneconne High School. Shortly after graduation Pep went into the Army, serving from 1952 to 1954. Upon being discharged from the Army, Pep married Shirley Christian on September 1, 1956. He worked for 37 years and retired from Glatfelter Paper Company as a Turbin Engineer. Pep was a man of many talents. He was very athletic, determined and excelled at basketball, football, track, hockey, skiing and just about anything sports related. Musically talented, Pep played the piano and the French horn. He was very coordinated and could dance with the best of them. What really made him special was his huge heart and his love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pep is loved and will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Shirley; sons, David (Renee) of Spring City, TN, Darick (Anne) of Lake Mills, WI, Douglas (Jo Rae) of Berlin, Dennis (Joanie) of Omro, Daniel (Heidi) of Neenah, Duane (Ricki) of Oshkosh; daughters, Lynnette (Phillip) Priebe of Ripon, Gina (Paul) Thiesfeldt of Fond du Lac and Terri (Mark) Gauthier of Omro; 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, daughter in law, Suzanne Milner of Oshkosh; sister, Audrey Gross; brother, Paul (Karen) Milner, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Darrell; grandsons, Devon Milner and Michael Van Deurzen; sisters, Joyce Sohm, Rosemary Kunde, Arlyn Schano and brothers, Gerald Otto and Morris Otto. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave., Omro from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. Pep will be laid to rest at Allenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. The family would like to thank the ICU Staff at Mercy Medical Center for the excellent care given to Pep.
