David L. Schneider, age 65, of Oshkosh, died Saturday evening, October 2, 2010, peacefully at home. Born on August 31, 1945, in Oshkosh to Julius and Harriett (Straw) Schneider, Dave married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie J. Wagner on May 2, 1964, in Oshkosh.
Employed by Rockwell International as a machinist, Dave was also the owner/operator of Sani-Steam Carpet Cleaning Company for 15 years with his wife, Bonnie. Dave enjoyed his life with his family, spending time fishing and snowmobiling. His greatest joy was living in Arizona, where he loved to go four-wheeling and taking trips in the desert.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Bonnie, of Oshkosh; two daughters, Renee (David) Mueller of Lake Zurich, Illinois, and Kristine Schneider of Oshkosh; five grandchildren, Shannon and Steven Mueller, Taylor, Michael, and Austin Schneider; a brother, Roger (Jeanne) Schneider; a sister, Linda Schneider; a sister-in-law, Beverly Schneider; and two uncles, Maynard Schneider and Delwin (Kay) Schneider; a niece, Kathy (Richard) Colwell; and a nephew, Peter Schneider. Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1206 Ontario Street, with Reverend Paul Lidtke officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Dave's memory.
