Delbert E. Tiry, age 75, of Oshkosh, died Sunday evening, November 6, 2011, at Omro Care Center. One of five children, Delbert was born on February 16, 1936, in Milladore, Wisconsin, to Mathias and Margaret (Hansen) Tiry. Delbert was employed by Paine Lumber Company for 35 years where he operated the trim saw. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish - St. Peter Catholic Church and a loyal Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Bruce) Schroeder of Stephens City, Virginia, and Janet Tiry of Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Aaron (Jennifer), Crystal, and Ashley; two great grandchildren, Brielle and Tyson; two brothers, Walter (Theresa) Tiry of Marshfield and David (Lucy) Tiry of Ripon; a sister, Clarann (Glen) Herzberg of Plymouth, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Koeller of Green Bay; and a special friend and companion, Shirley Besaw of Oshkosh. Preceding Delbert in death are his parents and one brother, Joseph Tiry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in Most Blessed Sacrament Parish - St. Peter Catholic Church, 435 High Avenue, with Reverend James Jugenheimer officiating. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield, Wisconsin. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
