Delores J. "Dee" Stevenson, age 80, of Peoria, Arizona and formerly of Oshkosh, died Monday afternoon, June 25, 2007. She was born on January 4, 1927 in Oshkosh to George and Mollie (Jordan) Elleson. Dee married Harold "Harry" Stevenson on September 17, 1949 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2005.
For many years Delores was involved in golfing leagues in the Oshkosh area and won several trophies. Her love of sports included watching baseball, recently basketball, and even though living in Arizona she remained a devout Green Bay Packer fan. Despite thinking that Arizona was "too hot" Delores and Harry moved from Oshkosh to Arizona nine years ago to be with their son and his family, weathering many summers.
Throughout the last nine years she was able to experience many important family events such as holidays, graduations, weddings, births, and travels throughout the West, including Hawaii. Although living thousands of miles away, Delores faithfully remained in contact with many friends and relatives in Wisconsin, often providing a listening ear. She will be dearly missed by many.
Survivors include a son, Douglas (Jane) Stevenson of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Amy (Leon) Crandell, Tracy (Brett) Arnold, Tami (Eric) Laue, and Scott Stevenson; four great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Crandell, Savannah Crandell, Brittany Arnold, and Jessica Arnold.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, with Reverend David Pagel officiating. Delores will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park next to her beloved husband, Harry. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Please visit www.seefeldfuneral.com to send online condolences to the family.
