Obituary

Dennis D. "Deni" Monroe, age 90, passed away on July 17, 2024, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was born to parents, Orville M. and Stella E. (Lipke) Monroe on March 17, 1934, in Waushara County Wisconsin.  He and his sister Joan (Junior) grew up in Hancock, WI and he graduated from Berlin High School.

On November 3, 1957, he married the love of his life, Lois Riemer, in Watertown, Wisconsin. They raised two children, Joseph and Cynthia, in the Oshkosh area and were able to spend over 52 years together before her passing in 2010. Dennis spent his entire working career at Morgan Door Company and retired after 46 years of service.

He and his wife were very active members in the Wesley United Methodist Church over several decades, and he had many fond memories of teaching Sunday School and other volunteer events. He enjoyed camping and taking extended road trips with the family during summer vacations.  In his later years Dennis volunteered at the local humane society by spending time in the cat room and chose to adopt the most elderly cats available so they may have a home at the end of their lives.

Dennis was a very loving, loyal, hardworking man of incredible faith. We are comforted to know he is at home with the lord and once again with his wife Lois.

He is survived by his son, Joseph (Anna) Monroe, granddaughter Ani; and daughter Cynthia Monroe; grandchildren, Penny, Christopher, Dustin, and Autumn; great-grandchildren Logan and Elvis; sister, Joan Junior; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Lois Monroe; and parents, Orville M. and Stella E. (Lipke) Monroe.

Service will be held on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Oshkosh, at 12:00pm. His final resting place will be at Lake View Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 54901.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 761 Florida Ave, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 54902, in his honor.
