Dolores Martin-Flanigan (nee Pilian) age 82, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. She was born in Milwaukee on August 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Nigl) Pilian. On September 3, 1949 she married her husband of 46 years, Ralph Martin, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 1995. On June 12, 1996, she was united in marriage to Patrick Flanigan at St. Raphael's in Oshkosh. Dolores was a wonderful homemaker who loved to entertain family and friends. She was a supporter of the Berlin V.F.W. where she was famous for her German Potato Salad. Dolores enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens as well as canning, cooking and baking, always in the company of her beloved dog, Molly.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Pat; her children: Linda (Jim) Wisniewski of Redgranite, Mary (Gordon) Schafer of Eau Claire, Susan Lain of Oshkosh, Christine (Tom) Lee of Omro; and Thomas (Kai-Yun) Martin of Boston, MA; Pat's children: Susan (Roger) Thonton of Texas, Sara (Ward) Jenkins of Colorado, Patricia Flanigan of Colorado, and Kelly (Steve) Hedrick of Arkansas; grandchildren: Amy, Jill, Brian, Melissa, Theresa, Katie, Jesse, Sarah, Arnold, Andrew, Jennifer, Kelsey, Ryan, Alyssa, Joshua and Taylor; great-grandchildren: Carly, Emma, Claire, Elli, Erik, Andrew, Scarlett, Dean, Maya, Suzette, Ayla, Christian, Brady and Brandon, and soon-to-be great-granddaughter.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at ST. RAPHAEL THE ARCHANGEL, 830 S. Westhaven Dr., Oshkosh, with Fr. Douglas LeCaptain officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
The family extends a special thank you to the staffs at Mercy Medical Center and U.W. Madison Hospital for their wonderful care.
A memorial fund in Dolores' name is being established. Donations will be given to St. Raphael's and animal rescue.
