Donald "Don" Vernon Connors, age 80, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Friday, March 18, 2016.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lola "Kay" C. Connors; children, Quinn (Robert) Hurt, Brenda (James) Martin, Rodney (Dianna) Donner; grandchildren, James Jr. (Kelsey) Martin, Chelsie (Joe Stone) Martin, Samuel Donner and Grace Donner; great grandchild, Zen Stone, along with many other beloved family and friends.
Don was born November 30, 1935 in Butler, WI to Edward and Juanita Connors. He was an avid motorcyclist since the age of 13. He belonged to and was a longtime member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association and also enjoyed trap shooting and hunting. He was a member of the 4th Street Gun Club.
Don served our country as a U.S. Marine and was stationed in Korea as a young man. For many years Don worked for Thermoelectron in Neenah and for the past 12 years was employed part-time at Bergstrom Auto Sales in Oshkosh. Don lived a long and happy life and will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at New Life Community Church, 3250 W. 9th Ave. in Oshkosh at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family will be accepting donations for a memorial charity fund to be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of Rodney.
Kay and her family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Hospital and Michelle and Jessica from Aurora Hospice for their guidance, support and compassion shown to Don and the rest of his family during his final journey.
