Obituary

Donald C. Heppner, age 76 died at his
home in Pine River, on Saturday, January 23, 2010. He was born in Wheeling, Illinois to Charles
and Elsie (Lauf) Heppner on July 18, 1933.


Don was baptized into the body of Christ on August 27, 1933. His confirmation took place on March 21,
1948. Then on May 18, 1957 he was married
to his faithful and loving wife, Shirley "Stewie" Ann Steward. All three of these important events occurred
at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenview, Illinois. He is expected to be
reunited in the resurrection of all flesh.


Growing up, Don and his family ran
Heppner Foods in Glenview, Illinois.
From 1954 until 1956 he served his country in Korea as a member of the U.S.
Army. His service to his fellow man
continued as a volunteer firefighter in Glenview for many years. After selling the farm and Heppner Foods, Don
and his family purchased Addison Estates Mobile Home Park in Oshkosh. Don was a lifetime member of the American Legion
Post 70, being a member of the Last Man's Club.
He was also one of the earliest life members of the Otter Street Fishing
Club.


Surviving Don is his wife of 52 years,
Shirley " Stewie" Heppner; his brother, Charles "Chuck" (Betty "Sis") Heppner; sister-in-law,
Evelyn Psenicka; and brother-in-law, George "Whitey" Ruesch; nieces and
nephews: Susan (Daniel) Ziegler, Nancy (Norman) Reichenberger, Katherine
(James) Goetting, James Ruesch, Linda Sue (Peter) Van de Motter, Michael
(Debbie) Psenicka, Douglas (Vicki) Psenicka; and William Psenicka; 14
great-nieces and nephews; and 6 great-great nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law,
Onel and Gena Steward; brother-in-law, Stanley Psenicka; sister-in-law, Dorothy
Ruesch; great-nephew, Ben Goetting; and many other dear relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held for Don
at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy
Sippi, State Road 49 and Highway H East.
A time of visitation for sharing memories and support will be held at
the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment with full military honors will be at
2:00 P.M. on Thursday in Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh. Please visit www.seefeldfuneral.com

flowers, memorials in Don's name may be given to Emmaus Lutheran Church, cancer
research, Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice, or the charity of your choice .
