Donald J. Jowett, age 80, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Aurora Medical Center. Born on February 7, 1934, in Oshkosh, the son of Leslie B. and Leona M. (Hoppe) Jowett, Don married Sharon A. Wollangk on December 5, 1981, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Oshkosh. She preceded Don in death on August 20, 2010.
A proud veteran, having served four years with the U. S. Navy, Don greatly enjoyed over 40 years volunteering with the Warbirds at EAA. He was a member of Am Vets Post 7 and an active life-long member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Don was employed by Winnebago Mental Health for many years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include a brother, Byron L. Jowett of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a niece, Laurie Rabensdorf of Wisconsin; a nephew, Michael Jowett of Arizona; and other cousins, nieces, nephews, and lots of good friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Chadwick Graham officiating. Full Military Honors will be given immediately after the service. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
