Donald E. "Red" Knoblock, age 82, of Oshkosh, went home to live with his Lord, Saturday morning, September 27, 2008 at his home. He was born on April 18, 1926 in Oshkosh to Albert and Ina (Connick) Knoblock. On November 6, 1950 Red married Marjorie Voight Baitinger in Oshkosh and she preceded him in death on August 16, 1993.
Red was a member and past Elder of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Red was also a wood craftsman. In his later years he enjoyed spending time at the cabin Up North (Bumpa's Hideout).
Left to mourn his passing are three daughters, Suzanne Knoblock Marquart of Oshkosh, Jeanne (Jim) Kairis of Oshkosh, and Lesa (Dean) Utecht of Slidell, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike), Jon, Derek and Kristina. Bumpa was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandchild. Also surviving is his sister, Fayette Koch of Kimberly, one brother-in-law, Edward Watson, two sisters-in-law Erline Voight and Loretta Smith and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Red was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, James Marquart. He was also preceded by his siblings Geraldine, Gordon, Lyle, Marlyn "Ole", Gloria, Daniel and Ina May and by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 11a.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, Eagle Street Chapel, with Reverend Paul Lidtke officiating. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday from 9-11a.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
