Donald "Don" Edward Lewis, age 86, passed away with his family by his side on April 1, 2024, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 22, 1938, to parents, Edward and Evelyn (Horn) Lewis. Later, his family moved to Watertown, followed by Freemont, Wisconsin.
Don attended high school in New London, Wisconsin. He joined the United States Air Force in May, 1956, and was stationed in West Germany for three years. There he met his wife, Theresa and they married in 1959. Together, they raised two daughters.
Upon returning home, they moved to Oshkosh. Don attended school and obtained his degree as an electrician. He worked at Rockwell International and retired after 30 years. He was also a member of the Fox Valley Gun Club, the Winnebago RC Flyers Club and served as an usher briefly at St. Mary's Church.
Don was a wonderful woodworker. He also enjoyed fishing and the great outdoors. He was able to travel back to Germany many times, as well as visiting many surrounding countries and cities, such as Rome, Italy, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Lewis; daughters, Sheila (Randal) Spear and Gina Raddatz; granddaughter, Brenna Spear; grandson, Austin (Melissa) Raddatz; brother, Robert (Eileen) Lewis; nephew, Joshua Lewis; several sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews in both Detroit and in Germany.
Preceding him in death was his parents, Edward and Evelyn (Horn) Lewis; and son-in-law, Steve Raddatz.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at St. Mary's Church, 730 Madison Ave, Omro, Wisconsin, 54963 from 9:00am to 11:00am, with mass to follow. He will be laid to rest at Omro Cemetery, 1600 Waukau Rd, Omro, Wisconsin, at 2:00pm on the same day.
