Obituary

Donald Byron Schuster, age 84, of Omro, died peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side on Monday morning, December 12, 2011. Don was born April 5, 1927, in Waukau, the son of Joseph and Lucy (Washburn) Schuster. He attended and graduated from Omro High School in 1946. Don honored his country by serving in the Army in Italy during WW II. He married the former Elizabeth "Betty" Fiegel on October 29, 1949, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Omro. After the service, he worked at Speed Queen, and then farmed in Waukau for six years before buying a farm in the Town of Omro in 1958. Along with farming, he delivered gas for Clair Markert and worked for Tony Switlick. Don also sold and serviced Badger Northland Equipment for farmers for over 25 years. Because of illness, he retired in 2002. He was a member of St. Mary Parish, a lifetime member of the Berlin V.F.W. and a member of the Omro American Legion. He will always be remembered by his family as a generous, caring and loving man who possessed the ability to fix anything.

Don is loved and will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Betty; his children, Brenda S. (James) Shea, Michael J. Schuster and Sandra K. (Larry) Remer, all of Omro; grandchildren, Tara Shea (Fianceì Josh Olk), Leah (Andy) Stanczyk, Logan Shea, Jenny (Matthew) Shattuck, Byron Schuster (friend Lindsey Bublavy), Jonathan Schuster
(Fianceìe Melissa Bei), Amber, Emma and Jackson Remer; great grandsons, Brayden and Tyler Shattuck. Brother, Larry (Judy) Schuster; brother in law and sister in law, Robert & Shirley Fiegel; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis (Beverly), Robert; sister, Kathryn (Tom) Thompson; and sister in law and brother in law, Caroline and Oscar "Bud" Trittin.

In respect to Don's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, December 16, 2011, at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and then again on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro from 9:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 A.M. at church with Rev. Fr. Douglas LeCaptain and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will be in the Waukau Cemetery.
