Donald W. Stowe, age 78, of Oshkosh, died Saturday morning, June 4, 2005 at Oshkosh Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on June 9, 1926 in Oshkosh to Hubert and Clara (Zeller) Stowe. Don married Arlyce Ahrens on May 6, 1949 in Oshkosh. Arlyce preceded him in death on June 6, 1991.
Don was the owner/operator of Wis-Coin Company for over 20 years. He also owned and operated the Club Terrace of Appleton; Daytona Connection of Daytona Beach, Florida; and the Char-Bar. Don enjoyed reading and a good game of Gin Rummy. He was a decorated U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.
Survivors include three daughters: Stephannie (Dale) Zander; Jerilyn (Steve) Klapa; Lisa (Steve) O'Neil; two sons: Donald M. (Laurie) Stowe; Kevin (DeeDee) Stowe; 9 grandchildren: Jodi Klapa; Shelly and Ryan Zander; Josh, Connor, and Lindsey Stowe; Katie and Kevin O'Neil; Kelly (Matt) Blakesley; two great-grandchildren: Jesse Klapa and Tyler Blakesley; and one brother: DuWayne Stowe. Preceding Don in death are his wife, parents, one grandson: Paul Klapa on October 9, 1992; and one brother: Gordon Stowe.
Funeral services will be held at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend William Van DeKreeke officiating on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. A time of visitation and support will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Don's family is establishing a memorial in his memory.
