Doris Elmer, 91 years old, of Winneconne, WI, passed away April 25, 2011. She was born in Sugar Bush, WI on July 31, 1919 to Edward and Edna (Trefethren) Bradley. She married Roy Benedict in 1937, he preceded her in death in 1972, she then married Kenny Elmer in 1975, he preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by son, Ed (Fern) Benedict of Riggins, Idaho; daughters, Jackie (James) Bailey of Port Wing, WI, and Patsy Benedict of Omro; and joins daughter, Sophie Pamer; son and daughter in law, Roy and Rhoda Benedict; grandchildren, Cindy, Bobby and Allen; and brothers and sisters, Bernard Bradley, Verna Smith, Jeanette Christensen and Mary Schultz in Heaven. She is survived also by 11 grandchildren; Nancy, Sue (Dave), Dawn (Chris), Karen, Linda (Troy), Sandy (Jim), Matt (Johanna), Jimmy (Amanda), Carrie, Brooke, and Kristy (Collin); 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Anna Mae Retzack.
Doris will be remembered by many for the laughter and joy she brought to those who knew her. Her family will think of her often and miss her daily. Her door was always open and a chair always warm for a friend or family with a deck of cards and a laugh. Doris' life was filled with family and fond memories which were not only proudly shown throughout her home, but were also present at her side when she passed away.
Memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m. on April 28, 2011 at Winneconne Christian Fellowship, 102 South 3rd St., Winneconne, with Pastor Dan Gibson officiating. There will be a time of gathering and visitation at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
