Doris N. Luebke, age 97, of Omro, died peacefully Monday evening, September 12, 2016, at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI. She was born October 28, 1918, in the Town of Rushford, the daughter of John and Anzolette (Drake) Bradley. Doris was a woman before her time. She was adventurous, strong and independent. Doris was very proud of being a Nurse in the U.S. Army serving in England during WW II. After being honorably discharged from the Army she moved to California. Doris married Clarence Luebke in Oshkosh on July 6, 1950. They lived in the Berlin area for many years while raising their family. When she retired from Berlin Hospital, she moved to Oshkosh and later moved to Omro to live with her daughter, Norleen. Some of her favorite pastimes included painting on canvas, sewing, knitting, crocheting, working crossword puzzles and reading. Doris had a deep appreciation and love of animals which she passed down to her girls. She was a former member of Waukau United Methodist Church.Doris is loved and will be missed by her daughters, Norleen M. Luebke of Omro, Ellen M. Conniff of Appleton, Elizabeth A. Luebke of Neenah; grandchildren, Anzolette (Tom) Manley, Sean Conniff; great granddaughter, Ella Manley, a future great granddaughter on the way; Ellen's mother in law, Ione Brannan of Belton, MO; other relatives, friends and her furry friends who she treated like family, Jack, her dog and Maggie, her cat. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anzolette Bradley; husband, Clarence; sisters, Ruth Stetter, Jean Steinke and Mary L. Bradley; brother, Howard Bradley and son in law, Gary Conniff.Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016, at the funeral home in Omro from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Burial with full military honors will immediately follow the service at Rushford Cemetery.The family would like to acknowledge and thank the Staff of Wisconsin Veterans Home (Ainsworth Hall, 2nd floor) at King, WI for their excellent care and tender love shown to Doris.
