Doris H. Maager, age 96, formerly of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, December 04, 2008, at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh. Doris was born in Hebron, on June 7, 1912, the daughter of Floyd and Lillian (Kuhn) Meracle. She lived most of her life in Fond du Lac, working many years for the Wisconsin Telephone Company, Fred Ruping Leather Company, and Agnesian Health Center. Doris loved to shop and find bargains at stores or flea markets. She was skilled at needlework, crocheting everyone slippers for Christmas.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Diane (Vaughn) Schaefer, of Iowa; grandson, Craig; three great grandchildren; her niece, Patti Daugherty; great nieces, Stacey (Ken) Stone, Bobbi Daugherty (Tim LaCroix); great nephews, Jeff Daugherty, Shaun (Jenny) Daugherty, and Dana (Angie) Daugherty and multiple great great nephews and nieces. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Iola Parrow, and her best friend and neighbor, Caroline.

A private family service was held for Doris at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in the Waukau Cemetery. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Evergreen and Aurora Hospice VNA for their loving care of Doris.
