Doris E. Schrank, age 84, of Oshkosh, died Monday, October 24, 2005 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born on May 20, 1921 in Wautoma, Wisconsin to Harry and Hazel (Cockrill) Turner. Doris married Ferdinand Schrank on August 16, 1941 in Wautoma and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1996.
Doris was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening (especially flowers), and was a well-known baker of bread and cinnamon rolls. Her great-grandchildren knew and loved her as "Great-Grandma Strawberry Jam."
Survivors include three daughters: Cheryl (James) LaFontaine of Oshkosh; Janice Schrank of Oshkosh; and Donna (Hans) Czipri of Oshkosh; four sons: Russell (Judy) Schrank of Oshkosh; Keith (Sharon) Schrank of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Allyn (Karen) Schrank of Kalua Konia, Hawaii; and Richard (Billie) Schrank of Rockford, Illinois; nine grandchildren: Laura, Jessica, Amanda, Danielle, Linsey, Julie, Troy, Scott, and Cory; ten grandchildren: Brendon, Jacob, Lorenzo, Dominic, Shalyha, Mylee, Maleea, Kayla, Cole, and Campbell.
Preceding Doris in death are her husband; parents; one son: Donald Schrank; one daughter: Sharon Schrank; and one sister: Margaret Fredrick.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Joel Olsen officiating. Interment will take place at Prince of Peace Cemetery in Coloma, Wisconsin. A time of visitation and support will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Her family is establishing a memorial in Doris' memory.
