Obituary
Dorlis Grubidge passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26
th
, 2025, at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Grubidge, of 63 years. She is survived by her two sons, Steve Grubidge his wife Gretchen, daughter Sabrina and Alex Grubidge and his son Brandon.
Dorlis was born in Pomona, California to parents Lyman and Zella S ti edley. She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Drama. After pursuing a career in modeling in New York, she went on to work for the Army Air Force Special Support Services entertaining troops in Berlin, Germany. There she met the love of her life and married Daniel Grubidge.
They eventually se ttled in Oshkosh Wisconsin where Dorlis became a respected professor at the University of Wisconsin. In addi tion to raising her two sons, she went on to a ttain a doctorate in her true passion of puppetry and authored the book "Sue Has tings Puppet Showwoman".
Dorlis enjoyed spending time with her friends, hos ting classes on puppetry and a tt ending local theater. She relished her time outdoors especially boa ting at her lake house. At 88 she took a 50 day cruise, by herself, from Alaska through the Panama Canal to England .
Dorlis was a strong woman and lived independent in her own home un til her recent passing.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
