Dorothy A. Gruszynske, age 88, of Omro, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born December 17, 1918 in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Andrew and Ann (Pufahl) Novitske. Dorothy had owned and operated the Springbrook Tavern in Omro for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling from 1950 until 1996, ceramics, embroidering and playing cribbage. Dorothy was a loyal and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Omro.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Thomas (Judith) Gruszynske of Omro; grandchildren, Julie Gruszynske of Austin, Texas and Timothy (Kathleen) Koring-Gruszynske of Sacramento, California; brother, A.J. (Margaret) Novitske of Janesville, WI; sister in laws, Winifred Miller and Marion Novitske, other relatives, and many dear friends, especially, Audrey Rolph, Francis Markert, Phyllis Davis, Shirley Stahl and Deb Winkus. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence Novitske, Donald Novitske; and sisters, Margaret Naparella, Grace Rozek, Carolyn Novitske and Mary Gadarske.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 233 E. Scott St., Omro, from 3:00 P.M. until 5:45 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 6:00 P.M. with Fr. Joseph Mattern officiating. Everyone is invited to a time of fellowship and luncheon following the Mass. Burial will be on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Omro Cemetery.
