Dorothy A. Herbst, age 80, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday morning, March 26, 2008 at Bethel Home. She was born on September 18, 1927 in Waukau to Cecil and Clarabelle (Johnson) Piper. Dorothy married Russell A. Herbst on September 15, 1951 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1975. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.


Left to mourn her passing is three children, Susan (Richard) Witak of Oshkosh, Gary Herbst of Oshkosh, and Brenda (John) Haliburton of Oshkosh; a brother, Cecil (Marion) Piper Jr. of Oshkosh; and eleven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceding Dorothy in death is her husband, parents, a son, Albert Herbst, a brother and sister-in-law, Arden and Elaine Piper, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Herbst.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 North Eagle Street, with Reverend David Pagel officiating. Internment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
