Obituary

Dorothy M. Johnson, age 84, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday morning, July 6, 2004, at Aurora Medical Center. She was born on February 28, 1920 in Wilmington, Massachusetts to Ralph and Myrtle (Carter) Taylor. Dorothy married James K. Johnson Sr. on December 13, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2003.
Dorothy was a member of First Congregational Church and a long-standing member of the Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed traveling and time spent with her family. Dorothy was a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Chapter 16; Past Worthy High Priestess of Bethel White Shrine #2; past Mighty Chosen Ones of Caldron; past Member of Social Order of Beauchent; past member of Past High Priestess Club; past member of Past Matrons Club; past member of Nobel Ladies; and past member of Centennial Ladies.
Survivors include two daughters: Judith K. (Michael) Cullen of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Janet K. (Thomas) Zak of Oshkosh; two sons: James K. (Marlene) Johnson Jr. of Katy, Texas; John K. Johnson of Oshkosh; four grandchildren: Tommy Zak, Andrea Zak, Casey Johnson, Rory Johnson; two sisters: Betty (Brent) Maddox of Fort Washington, Maryland; and Verna LeFave of Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Preceding Dorothy in death are her husband; one son: Ralph H. Johnson; one brother: Bud Taylor; and one sister: Barbara Thomas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2004 at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Blvd., at 11:00 a.m. with Reverends Ralph and Carol DiBiasio-Snyder co-officiating. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park following the services. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church where an Eastern Star service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Memorials in Dorothy's memory are requested to First Congregation Church.
