Obituary

Dorothy M. "Dottie" Jordan, age 87, passed away at Bethel Home in Oshkosh on Monday, July 14, 2008. Dottie was born on March 4, 1921 in Oshkosh to John and Mary (Pfaffenroth) Weigandt. On May 3, 1941 Dottie wed Norman Jordan at Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.
Dottie was a member of the German Historical Society and a member of Zion Lutheran Church were she held an active role in the food program. Dottie loved to take care of her family through cooking and baking many special treats and also through quilting. She enjoyed creating Christmas ornaments of felt and making other ceramics.
Left to mourn her passing is husband, Norman Jordan; children, Karen (James) Hoffman, Sandra (David) Angle, Marcia (Robert) Ballassare, David (Tracey) Jordan; sister, Ruth Esslinger; sister-in-law, Esther Scheuermann; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Preceding Dottie in death were daughter, Mary Gauger; and 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held for Dottie on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer Street, with the Reverend Jeffrey Knoll officiating. A time of gathering for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street, and Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Zion Lutheran Church.
