Dorothy Marie (Maliske) Koplitz, age 86, of Oshkosh, died quietly in her sleep, Sunday, October 7, 2018, after a short illness. Born on February 27, 1932, Dorothy was the second of three children born to Otto and Grace (Nelson) Maliske of Pickett, Wisconsin.
A graduate of Ripon High School, Dorothy continued her education to become a bookkeeper, which she worked at until her marriage. On September 6, 1952, she married Marvin Eldor Koplitz and together they lived and farmed the land that Dorothy grew up on until 1984, when they moved to Oshkosh.
A long-time employee of Miles Kimball Company until her retirement in 2004, Dorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Pickett. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed needlework and bowling.
Survivors include three children, Gary (Mary) Koplitz of Pickett, Krisann (special friend, Dewey Bier) Koplitz of Ripon, and Brian Koplitz of Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Shianne, Justin, Eric, Shawn, Nickolas, and Emily; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Jeanette Parks and Verna Hildebrand; a nephew, Raymond Parks; and four brothers-in-law, Dave Hildebrand, Carroll Parks, Howard Koplitz, and Larry Koplitz.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Jud Krohn officiating. Interment will be at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday from 1:00 at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
