Dorothy Marie Merten passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the age of 85 after battling cancer.
She was born in Cadott, Wisconsin on May 2, 1926 to Joseph and Martha Privoznik. She was married to Merlin Merten on October 21, 1950. They made their home in Oshkosh, where Dorothy worked throughout her life at many financial institutions. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time at their cottage on Moon Lake.
She is survived by her husband, Merlin; children: Greg (Shirley) Merten, Diane (Steve) Gibson, and Cathy (Jeff) Boettcher; grandchildren: Matt (Lindsay) Gibson, Sarah Merten, Jessica (Pat) Judkins, Kyla Boettcher, Michelle (Chris) Hodsden, and Rob Hart; three great-grandchildren; her sisters: Lorraine (Fred) Dahl and Betty (Fred) Caldwell; her brother, Jim (Corky) Privoznik; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Brandy. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ed Privoznik.
Memorial services will be held for Dorothy at 3:00 P.M., on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time for sharing memories and support will be held at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
