Dorothy Virginia Ness, age 88, of Omro, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2011. She passed peacefully at Mercy Medical Center with her family at her side. Dorothy was born October 15, 1922, in Columbus, WI, the daughter of Clyde and Lola Langley.
Dorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Omro. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, walking and she loved her long time companion, her cat, Tigger. Her greatest joy in life was her family.
Survivors include her five children, Patricia (Jeff) Williquette, Neenah; Harold (Mary) Ness, Layton, UT; Charlene (Les) Rice, Oshkosh; Judy (Larry) Olson, Raleigh, NC; Lois (Patrick) Goss, Omro; four grandchildren, SSG Travis (Lindsay) Goss, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Michael (Stacy) Williquette, West Bend; Shannon (Tylor) Warlop, Raleigh, NC; Tyler (Khyrsten) Goss, Oshkosh; six great grandchildren, Madison Henry Goss, Ethan Goss, Matayah Goss, Ema Williquette, Danielle Williquette, Gabriella Warlop; sisters, Bernadee Steifner and Delores Tank of Illinois, and her long time friend, Ruth Koonce. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Ness; sisters, Laoma Wills and Eleanore Topham.
A memorial has been established in Dorothy's name to the Fox Valley Humane Association of Appleton, WI.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Beckett, and the nurses at Mercy Medical Center for their care and compassion to mom and to her family during her illness. A Special Thank You to her care team of Brian Nagler, Lauren Forseth and Deb Williams for all their kindness, and to the staff of Webster Manor.

Due to inclement weather forecasts, the Visitation and Funeral Services for Dorothy has been changed to the following: Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating.
