Dorothy M. Sanders, age 81 of Oshkosh, died in the early hours on September 10, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center. She was born to Albert and Lydia (Tews) Buelter in Shawano, Wisconsin on November 8, 1924. She married Lewis E. Sanders on June 14, 1947.
Dorothy truly enjoyed nature. You could always find her doing yard work. She loved animals and going camping. She also took pleasure in making things out of wood and was very handy with a jigsaw. Dorothy liked to tinker in the garage. She was a very special mother, not only to her son, but also to numerous foster children for the program in which she was involved.
Survivors include her son: Steven (Sandra) Sanders; one brother: Albert (Betty) Buelter, and one sister-in-law: Luida Sanders, all of Oshkosh. Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter: Deborah, 3 grandchildren, and several siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 14, at 2 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 761 Florida Avenue, with Reverend Jean B. Schmidt officiating. Friends may gather at the church from 1 PM until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery.
