Dorothy M. Sorenson, age 90, of Omro, passed away suddenly, at home, on Friday, February 19, 2016. Dorothy was born on May 30, 1925, to Richard and Sarah (Porter) DeHart. She married Axel H. Sorenson on October 19, 1946. Dorothy was a hard worker all of her life. She worked at the Checkerboard Grill, Parks Café, Deltox Rug Company, American Excelsior and later retired from Rockwell. Dorothy had an uncanny ability to make people laugh with her quick sense of humor. She will best be remembered for her generosity. Every spring she anticipated planning and planting a large garden. The bountiful and diverse produce was shared with everyone. In winter, she devoted hours making beautiful quilts. Most of these quilts were proudly and lovingly given to many family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter and best friend, Pamela Jacobsson of Riverside, IL; her sisters, Evelyn Koehler of Sun Prairie, WI, Lottie (Jim) Williams of Billings, MT and Betty (Jim) Roller of Eugene, OR; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and so many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Axel; son, Gerald; eleven brothers and sisters. A private family service was held at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel where she was laid to rest.
