Obituary

- Dr. Dwight "Bid" Bidwell went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2003. He was born in Omro, WI on September 7, 1932.
Dwight graduated from Omro High School, received his Bachelor of Science from Oshkosh State College (UW-O); Master of Science from the University of Northern Illinois; and his Doctorate Degree from the University of Utah.

He was a teacher of math and physical education in southern Wisconsin for 10 years. During that time he also coached football, basketball, baseball and tennis. Dr. Bidwell was a professor at UW-O where he chaired the Division of Heath Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) for 14 of his 27 years there. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Dr. Bidwell was actively involved with his profession. He served on numerous state, mid-west, and national committees and as President of the Wisconsin Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (HPERD).

Dwight was also actively involved with church activities serving on committees, teaching Sunday School, singing in choirs for over 35 years, and serving on Church ruling bodies for 14 years.

Dwight's interests were many and varied. He enjoyed camping, playing bridge and cards, golf, horeshoes, tennis, basketball and reading. He also enjoyed the precious time he spent with his children, grandchildren, family, and many friends.

Dwight was married 46 years to Barbara (Brown) Bidwell. They were blessed with 3 children, Deborah Lou Collins, David Dwight Bidwell, and Denise Ann Mauel. He is also survived by their spouses, Curtis Collins, Kelly Bidwell and Brian Mauel and also 4 grandchildren who were the love of his life, Emily, Sarah, Hannah and Joshua Mauel. They will miss their "Papa".

Also surviving Dwight is his brother Reg and sister-in-law Lois, plus sister-in-laws Diane Bland, husband Mike, and Nancy Bishop, husband Jack. He will be sorely missed by Aunt Muggy, Uncle Babe, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded by his parents Jim and Viva Bidwell, sister, Beverly Clausen, and his father and mother in law John and Lucille Brown.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 29, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church, 404 S. Webster Ave., in Omro from 4 p.m. to 6:45 P.M. Memorial service at 7 P.M. with Rev. Edward Slusser officiating.

Memorials to the Dwight Bidwell Family will be used for youth activities. Dwight was interested in supporting local and international youth groups.
