Obituary

Earl Kenneth Hunt, age 92, of Oshkosh went to be with his loving Lord on May 22, 2005. He was born in Oshkosh April 13, 1913, the son of Elmer and Helen (Zittlow) Hunt. Reverend Sandrock at St. John Lutheran Church, in Dubuque, Iowa, married Earl to Viola "Vi" Bartels on September 14, 1940.
Earl was baptized and confirmed in St. John Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and became a member of First English Lutheran Church in 1943. He sang in the Senior Choir a member of the Neighborhood Center, and the Christian Fellowship Society. Earl also was a happy volunteer for the "Meals on Wheels" program for ten years.
Earl was employed as an inspector for the Wisconsin Axle Company for thirty-four years. He also did commercial photography for the Axle Company. In addition he had a wedding photography business in Oshkosh for twenty years.
He was a member of Blue Lodge #27 Oshkosh Free and Accepted Masons; Winnebago Land Shrine Club; Bethel Shrine No. 2 of the White Shrine of Jerusalem; and the Scottish Rite Valley of Green Bay Beja Shrine Lodge.
Earl loved planting seeds and watching them grow, doing vegetable and flower gardening and sharing produce with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years; daughter: Leanne "Holly" Madel (Tom Sr.) Francis. He is further survived by two grandchildren: Jason D. (Amy) Madel of West Bend and Scott E. Madel of Chicago. They loved and will dearly miss their Grandpa. Also two step-grandsons, Tom (Kathy) Francis Jr. and Kevin (Sandie) Francis all of Oshkosh; three step great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Ashley, and Jaden Francis; also two dear cousins: Mary Ellen (Sid) Nintzel of Oshkosh, and Ervin Zittlow of Wrightstown. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law David Madel.
Funeral Services for Earl will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Thursday, May 26, 2005, at First English Lutheran Church, 1013 Minnesota, Reverend Chuck Fluegel officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation and support from 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 2:00P.M.
In lieu of flowers a memorials have been established to First English Lutheran Church and Shriners Children's Hospital.
