Eddie J. Weidner, age 81 of Oshkosh passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at his home. He was born September 6, 1928 in Brandon, Wisconsin, the son of Adolf and Rose (Blackburn) Weidner. On November 24, 1945 Eddie married the love of his life, Ruth Colka in Ripon.

For 22 years Eddie worked in maintenance for the school system until his retirement in 1962. Ed loved working at the school and the children would adoringly call him "Mr. Ed". Ed also enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and also traveling to many country concerts such as Country USA with his wife.

Ed will be missed by his loving wife of 64 years Ruth; his children, Darlene (Michael) Molski of Oshkosh, MaryLou Weidner of Oshkosh, Douglas (Barbara) Weidner of Oshkosh, Gloria (Mark) Wendt of Neshkoro, Darwin (Julie) Weidner of Oshkosh, Diane Volp of New Berlin; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eddie Weidner Jr.; and brothers Harold and Lawrence Weidner.

Funeral service for Ed will take place at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street with Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating.
