Edna D. Zimdars, age 91, of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2004 at Park View Health Center. She was born on June 19, 1913 in the Township of Vinland to Otto and Hattie (Erdman) Eckstein. Edna married Ernest Zimdars on November 29, 1933 and he preceded her in death on November 10, 1988.
Edna was a life long member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and organ, knitting, crocheting, and doing puzzles.
Survivors include three daughters: Helen (Kenneth) Voss, Janice (James) Schwertfeger, and Julie (Larry) Gruse; five beloved grandchildren: Stacie Voss, Steven (Lisa) Voss, Sue (Robert) Bushman, Darcy (Dennis) Johnson and Bruce Schwertfeger. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy; Brooke Mongan, Margaret, Katherine, and Alison Voss, Kyle Bushman, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Edna in death are her husband, parents, two sisters: June and Roy Schmude, Ethel and Mathias Bauer; two brothers: Edward and Orville Eckstein; and one grandson: Sean Gruse.
Private family services will be held for Edna. The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven Blaha, Dr. G. Subramani, and the staff at Park View Health Center for the loving and understanding care shown to their mother these past four years. She loved you all.
