Obituary

Ed H. Rehbein, age 99, of Oshkosh, died Saturday morning, February 14, 2004 at Bethel Home. He was born on May 25, 1904 in New London to William and Emma (Krueger) Rehbein. Ed married Dorothy Schwan on February 12, 1930 in Oshkosh and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2002. He was an U.S. Navy veteran.
Ed owned and operated his own contracting business from 1934-1969. He founded the Oshkosh Chapter of Painting and Decorating Contractors Association. Ed was Past President of State Painting and Contractors Association, Secretary and Treasurer of Fox Valley Painting and Contractors Association from 1942-1991, was a life-member of Wisconsin Painting and Contractors Association. He was a 50+ year member of the Oshkosh Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Tripoli Shrine. Ed loved to travel and vacation with his wife, especially hunting and fishing trips.
Survivors include two sisters: Ada Stark of Oshkosh; Anita Manley of Green Lake; and many nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and ten brothers: Walter, Ben, Oscar, Herbert, Ewald, Arthur, Bill, Leonard, Elmer, and Marvin.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, with Reverend Thomas McFarland officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. A memorial is being established in Ed's memory.
