Edwin Adam Weitz, age 89, died on Thursday, November 24, 2011. He was born on December 12, 1921 to Adam and Marie (Paffenroth) Weitz. During WWII he served his country in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army. In 1968 he married Hazel Ford who died in 1975.
Generous to everyone, Edwin was known for his love of boating, gardening, and German cooking. He furnished tomatoes to the neighborhood, plus and was noted for his lettuce soup. For thirty years he worked at Rockwell Standard.
Surviving Edwin is his sister, Jalane Otto; sister-in-law, Elsie Weitz; nieces, Beverly Rothenbach and Beth Bruggink; nephews: Edwin Weitz, Dennis Weitz, and Paul Otto; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Emil Weitz; sister, Ella Weigandt; and nephew, Gary Weigandt.
Funeral Services for Edwin will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time for visiting and sharing memories will be held at the funeral chapel from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
