Elaine E. Reinert, age 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Evergreen Retirement Center. Elaine was born November 17, 1932, the daughter of Edward and Florence (Madson) Schutz. She married Lawrence Degner on December 10, 1949, he passed away November 29, 1956. She later married Rexford Reinert on December 13, 1957 and he passed away on September 9, 2002. Elaine enjoyed ceramics, vegetable gardening, tending to her flowers, fishing trips with her husband and deer hunting with her family at the cabin up north. She was a great cook and loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and all her friends.
Elaine is loved and will be missed by her children, Susan E. (Richard) Ertmer, Karen A. (Ronald) Miller, Thomas (Mary) Degner all of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Jon (Fiancée Carey) Ertmer, Brian "BJ" (Holly) Ertmer, Rhonda Schneider, Eric (Jayne) Miller, Allan Degner; six great grandchildren; sisters, Mavis (Robert) Wolff, Carol (Harland) Vogt; brother, Richard (Judy) Schutz; brothers in law and sisters in law, Harold (Elaine) Reinert, James (Julie) Reinert, Charles (Louise) Reinert, Robert (Cec Malone) Reinert, William (Arlene) Reinert, Marion Yesse, Judith Reinert, Nell Reinert; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son, Lawrence "Skeeter" Degner, brothers in law, Kenneth Reinert, John Reinert, Frederick Reinert; sisters in law, Beverly Halder and Ruth Swank.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer St, Oshkosh, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Elaine will be laid to rest at Ellenwood Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Evergreen Retirement Community Creek View North for the excellent care and love shown to Elaine, as well as her kind neighbors, Gary and Lisa, Renee, Mark and her special friends, Lore and Denise for all their support and love.
