Eldon E. Lee, age 81, of Oshkosh, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015. He was born in Omro on June 8, 1934 the son of the late Archie and Alma (Fink) Lee. On November 26, 1955 he married his wife of almost 60 years, Mary Challoner. He was proud to serve in the United States Army. Eldon worked for Marathon and American Can for 38 years, 22 of which were as a Millwright. He retired in 1996. He enjoyed camping with Mary with their trailer in Pine River and Door County. Other places they traveled to include Alaska, Nova Scotia and London. Eldon served as a custodian, volunteer and two terms as a Deacon with First Presbyterian Church. Eldon will be remembered for being an avid Brewers and Packers fan. He will be missed by his breakfast club and his bowling friends.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Alan (Theresa) Lee of Oshkosh, Gail (Danny) Trenholm of Eagan, MN and Steven Lee of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Mason and Connor, and Emily and Maddy; and sister-in-law, Arla Lee. He was preceded in death by his sister, Edith (Roy) Carpenter; and his brother, Oscar Lee.
The memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 110 Church Ave., Oshkosh, with Rev. Tom Willadsen officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Omro Cemetery, Omro.
The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to cancer research.
