Obituary

Eleanor A. Lautenschlager, age 82, of Oshkosh, died on Monday, June 27, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on May 2, 1923 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Otto Emil and Stella I. (Rowe) Raddatz. Eleanor married Henry Edward "Wimp" Lautenschlager on January 18, 1946 in Oshkosh. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage with family and friends in 1996. She loved music and enjoyed being the organist at her church, Emmanuel United Church of Christ, along with belonging to and having held several offices in the Daughters of Sarah at Emmanuel. She also served as secretary for the church council. Having been a homemaker for eleven years, she then worked as an administrative secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for 28 years, retiring in 1985.

She is survived by her loving husband Henry of Oshkosh; a daughter, Faye (Craig) Adams of Northglenn, Colorado; a son, Bruce (Nadene) Lautenschlager of Auburndale, Wisconsin; grandchildren, David Lautenschlager, Carol Vanderwyst, Susan Halida and Reggie Adams; two great-grandchildren, Sara Marie and Caitlyn Jean Halida. She is further survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jean Lautenschlager and a brother, Phil Raddatz.

Funeral services for Eleanor will be held on Friday, July 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1306 Michigan Street (corner of Michigan Street and South Park Avenue), Oshkosh with the Reverend Dr. R. David Gaskill officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held on Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in Eleanor's name for Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
